Getting to Marsa Alam
Direct Flights to Marsa Alam International Airport are available once a week from both London Gatwick (Wednesdays) and from Manchester (Thursdays) The transfer time from Marsa Alam International to the apartment is approximately 40 minutes. Flights from the UK take around five and a half hours.
If a mid week flight is not convenient for you, there is a far greater choice of flights to Hurghada - although the transfer time from Hurghada to the apartment is around three hours. Flights from the UK take around five and a quarter hours.
Cheap flights to both destinations can be found on several UK based web sites, some of which are listed on the USEFUL INFO page.
Visa Requirements
Most tourists and visitors to Egypt will need to obtain an entry visa. These can be purchased at any of the major airports or ports of entry.
You will need to have a valid passport with at least 6 months left before expiry to get an entry visa.
How to obtain your visa at the airport:
The visa is simply a stamp (like a postage stamp) that you buy from the visa office which you arrive at just before the immigration booth.
The visa will cost you around $15 (Or £10.00, although US Dollars are preferred)
After buying it; you just stick it onto any empty page in your passport and then stand in line to get your passport stamped by the immigration officer.
